Our commitment to sustainable and responsible tourism

Kangaroo Valley is one of Australia's leading responsible tourist destinations. Our aim is to ensure that your visit doesn't harm the environment so we can all continue to enjoy the pristine natural beauty and country charm of this area. So enjoy the tranquillity, peace and outstanding natural beauty by walking or cycling. Kangaroo Valley was the first plastic bag free town in mainland Australia. This initiative is proudly supported by many local tourism operators who are also participating in our ‘Reducing Our Footprint' program to reduce and offset their greenhouse emissions. Visitors can make a positive contribution to the environment and reduce the negative impact of their journey's emissions to Kangaroo Valley by making a gold coin donation at our Visitors Information Centre. 100% funds will go to our Wildlife Corridor or go to Conservation Volunteers Australia’s Gold Standard offset program in reforesting Australia.
